IPSS works alongside First Nations to support Indigenous-led economic development and nation rebuilding. Its work brings together strategy, economic development, capacity building, and long-term thinking to help communities pursue opportunities on their own terms.

Burst partnered with IPSS to develop a brand and communications system that reflects the organization’s role and gives it the tools to communicate clearly with First Nations governments, partners, and funders.

The work brought together visual identity, presentation materials, strategic templates, and communications tools into a professional and consistent system built to support IPSS as it grows.

The Challenge

Communicating with purpose.

IPSS works in a space where trust, clarity, and credibility matter. Its audiences include First Nations governments, community leaders, partners, and funders, each with different priorities and expectations.

The challenge was to create a brand that could communicate the breadth of IPSS’s work while remaining clear, professional, and grounded in its purpose. The organization needed more than a visual identity. It needed a communications system that could support everything from strategic presentations and proposals to ongoing engagement with communities and partners.

Every touchpoint needed to feel considered and consistent.

Strategy

Clarity creates confidence.

The work began by understanding how IPSS communicates, who it speaks to, and what those audiences need to understand.

The brand needed to position IPSS as a trusted partner in Indigenous-led economic development while giving its communications enough flexibility to work across different contexts. Rather than creating a rigid visual system, Burst developed a foundation that could adapt to the range of conversations IPSS has with First Nations governments, partners, and funders.

The strategy focused on making complex ideas easier to communicate while maintaining the depth and integrity behind the work.

Brand

A visual identity built for trust.

The identity was designed to give IPSS a distinctive and credible presence while reflecting the organization’s focus on Indigenous prosperity and nation rebuilding.

The visual system creates consistency across communications while leaving room for the people, communities, and ideas behind the work to remain central. Typography, colour, composition, and supporting graphic elements come together in a system that feels contemporary, professional, and purposeful.

The result gives IPSS a stronger foundation for showing up consistently across every audience and every conversation.

Communications

From strategy to story.

A strong brand only works when people can use it.

Burst translated the identity into practical communications tools that help IPSS present its work clearly and confidently. Presentation materials, strategic templates, and supporting communications assets were developed to make everyday communication more efficient while maintaining a consistent brand experience.

The system gives IPSS the flexibility to adapt its messaging to different audiences without starting from scratch each time.

Creative

Designed for real conversations.

The creative system was developed around the way IPSS actually works.

Presentation decks need to communicate ideas clearly. Strategic documents need to make complex information accessible. Templates need to be flexible enough for different projects and audiences. Rather than designing assets as one-off pieces, Burst created a connected system that could be used, adapted, and extended over time.

The result is a brand that works beyond the logo. It lives in the way IPSS presents ideas, shares information, builds relationships, and communicates its vision.

A stronger brand. Better tools. A clearer platform for supporting Indigenous prosperity and self-determination.

The Impact

A stronger foundation for long-term prosperity.

IPSS now has a professional and adaptable brand and communications system that supports its work with First Nations governments, partners, and funders.

Consistent presentation materials and strategic templates make it easier to communicate ideas, opportunities, and initiatives across different audiences. More importantly, the new system gives IPSS a stronger platform for the next stage of its growth. It reflects the organization’s role in supporting Indigenous-led economic development while creating space for the relationships, ideas, and opportunities that will shape what comes next.

In Closing

Communicating with confidence.

IPSS needed a brand that could match the importance of its work and a communications system that could carry that work forward.

Together, they create a clearer and more consistent way for IPSS to engage with communities, governments, partners, and funders.
